A MUST-HAVE FOR ANYONE WHO DOES APPLIQUE!

Today I’d like to show you some new items in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  When someone first showed me these Perfect Circles by Karen Kay Buckley, I thought, how can they work?  Won’t the fabric slide around when you are trying to iron the circles in place?
Then one of my fellow quilters explained that the way you do it is, you gather the fabric around the template before you use starch and iron it.  It's much like making a YoYo.
Here I placed a bobbin next to the circles to help you judge size.

I tried it and was amazed.  Now it is a snap to make perfect circles in no time.  And it is very easy to remove the template before you appliqué the circle onto your block.  Look how nice mine look on the first try!
There are at least 60 templates in each bag as well as a metal ring to hold them, which is very nice because it is so easy to lose these small plastic templates.  I’ve asked Chris to get some of the larger templates in the store as that will be helpful when making the large circles on the Whimsical Garden quilt which I blogged here.
Also in the shop are these lovely fabrics.  This dottie fabric is called Doodle Zoo by RJR Fabrics.
This lovely collection is called Bloom Modern by In The Beginning.
There are lots of new quilting books in the store too.  Stop in and take a look!
