MODERN MONDAY QUILT ALONG

During the holidays I was remiss in posting (or making) my blocks for the Modern Monday Quilt Along.  This weekend I caught up.  Above are my last three blocks.  Okay, so they don’t look anything like the patterns that Jennifer had up.  I looked at those and just didn’t think they looked wonky enough.  Besides, I’d just be making more scraps.  So, I took the scraps I already had and made these three blocks.
Above are all my blocks together.  Now the big decision is how to put them together.  Jennifer has instructions up, but I’m not sure what I’ll be doing as I want to make the quilt a certain size for that very tall grandson.
First I have to decide on the sashing fabric and do I want a border or not.   I always thought that gray was gray, but it’s just like white…there are a million different versions of gray.  Above are the three that I used in the quilt and an extra one that never made it in because I thought it was too blue.
Do I want to use white for the sashings?
Do I want to use light gray?
Do I want to use a darker gray?

I can see this is going to involve some thought and testing and…hey, I have an idea…why not ask the 16 year old young man that I’m making it for.  I bet he’ll have an opinion.  I’ll keep you posted.  In the meantime, check out Lynn's blog and see what she is doing with her blocks.  Thank you Jennifer for this fun Quilt Along.

Some Notes:  Don’t forget to check the calendar for all the fun classes/events going on at the shop this week.  Quilts For Wheels is today.  I admire all the work these women do for those in a wheel chair.  Note:  Another Happy Scrapper Bee has been added.  So, for those who would prefer to meet during the week, you can get together with Buffie on this Wednesday.  Also, don't forget to stop in at the shop and get your FREE snowman pattern.

ON ANOTHER NOTEFabric And Flowers has a tutorial for a Bikini Bottoms Block.  Really cute.

Until next time,

Stay Calm! Stay Kind! Stay Positive!
