QUILT SHOW IN MARSHALL

Saturday was Fall Harvest Quilt Show in Marshall, Michigan.  This show is sponsored by the Cal-Co Quilters’ Guild and is a NQA certified judged show.  This first picture is what you see when you first walk in the door.  It won Best in Show.  Ted’s Quilt is by Sharon Brule. Joyce Rupp. (I don't know how I got Sharon's name in my notes. Thanks Linda for the correction.)
Circle of Life won second place.  It is by Lonnie Brewer.
I had to show this.  My Cozy Garden is by Cindy Mumford and she said she took a class from Mary Lou Hallenbeck.  It sure looks like a Mary Lou Weidman design to me (I love her style).  I wonder if Hallenbeck was her maiden name?
Isn’t this interesting!  Bloom Stash is by Linda Carlson.
Goat Stack is by Sally Puson.
Before You Meet The Handsome Prince is by Shirley Baker.  I hope I got everyone's name right.  I wrote standing up and when I got home I had difficulty reading my own writing.

Sue of The House That Love Built attended the show also and has pictures posted on her blog.  Her taste is so different from mine and I’m sure you’d find her pictures of interest.  Check it out here.    Sue is so right:  a good quilt show does get your inspirational juices flowing.

Mark your Calendar for these upcoming events:

Becky Goldsmith of Piece O’ Cake Designs will be lecturing Tuesday, September 27 at the evening meeting of the West Michigan Quilters’ Guild.  She will also be teaching two classes:  Whimsical Garden is the featured quilt for the Tuesday, Sept. 27 class from 9 – 4.  Picasso’s Garden is Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 9-4 and is a lesson in improvisational quilting for the quilter who doesn’t usually break the rules.  These classes sound like so much fun.  You can read more about it and find out how to sign up for the classes at the guild website here.

The Harvest Shop Hop is coming up.  Two big weekends!  Thursday, Sept. 22 through Sat., Sept. 24 and Thursday, Sept. 29 through Sat., Oct. 1.  A bus is available.  Fourteen shops are participating.  This is the tenth year for the shop hop and the shops are going all out to make it a special event.  The passport is only $10 and you will receive free patterns and a pin.

Stay calm! Stay kind! Stay Positive!
