SPARTA SEW SISTERS

I want to introduce you to the Sparta Sew Sisters. Some of the ladies in our group have been stitching together for over 20 years. (Sure doesn’t seem like it’s been that long.) Every Monday night during the school year, we get together at the high school and stitch, talk and laugh. Sometimes there are as many as sixteen of us, sometimes only four or five. Most of the time we work on our own projects, but in the past we’ve joined forces and made raffle quilts for the Sparta Relay for Life. It’s a great group, everyone pitches in to help each other. If you've been in the Attic Window, you'll recognize all of the them as frequent patrons.

Marge is working on her Lighthouse blocks... only a few more to finish.

Not of us quilt, Jean sometimes brings her knitting.

Jane worked all winter on her barn quilt. We watched it coming together every week. Can’t wait to see the finished quilt! Now, finally, she gets to work on a quilt for her new grandbaby.

This Rob Peter to Pay Paul quilt was a class several of us took from JD at the Attic Window many years ago. Way to go Mary Ann, you’re almost done! I still have lots of blocks to finish.

Gerry shows off her table topper. I remember we helped her pick out fabric on our way to a retreat this winter.

Last night was our last meeting till next fall. I love stitching with all these ladies. They are a big part of my life. Have a great summer and I’ll be looking forward to the Show-n-Tells in September!
